This is one of the most telling parts of the movie. I mean, this is a fourteen year old girl who has just been chased out of her home, by a woman trying to kill her, into an uncharted part of the woods, with no supplies and nowhere to go, and she’s ashamed of the fact she was noticeably upset instead of keeping her calm and cheerful demeanor. If even one of these things happened to me, I’d be too busy freaking out to have any concern for the fact I might have frightened a rabbit or two. Still don’t understand how people can think she’s a weak princess. You go Snow White.
She also apologizes and then soothes the animals by singing to them. She doesn’t wallow in the fact she is scared and alone. She comforts the animals she scared. She is incredibly badass and isn’t given enough credit. She is more concerned with the animals in this scene. It’s not until they are calm that she wonders where she is going to live. Since she helped them, they help her.
